Fabrizio Romano has revealed some interesting news regarding Benjamin Sesko and Joshua Zirkzee amid AC Milan’s pursuit of a new striker.

During his latest Daily Briefing column for CaughtOffside, Romano confirms that Sesko is the target for ‘many top clubs around Europe’ given that he has scored 12 goals since January, at an average of one goal involvement in every game he’s started since then.

Chelsea are keen on the Slovenia international as per the journalist, but Arsenal, Manchester United and many other clubs are interested too. RB Leipzig ‘want to try to keep the player’ and have reached out to his agents with the ‘important proposal of a new contract’.

They have offered up an ‘important salary and with the project being built around the young forward’, but now it is up to the played to make a decision on where he sees his future, given the level of clubs that are keen on him.

Romano also added a bit at the end regarding Milan’s hunt for a new centre-forward, stating that they are working on a different deal as we also reported.

“AC Milan have also been linked with Sesko, but their priority is Joshua Zirkzee, who has a release clause at Bologna of just €40m. He’s been fantastic and is available for a very decent price.”
